FIKES UPNVJ - On April 23 2024, the results of an assessment carried out by the group with residents of RT 004 RW 002 Limo Subdistrict regarding disaster mitigation that have occurred recently have been carried out. After a survey in the environment, it was found that high rainfall caused many puddles, which became nests for mosquito larvae. The initial information that the group found was that there were 10 houses infected with chikungunya, where the disease is caused by mosquitoes, which previously had mosquito larvae nesting in puddles of water. Residents said they rarely threw out rainwater tanks for long periods of time, up to days, this caused lots of mosquito larvae. nest.

The results of this study serve as a reference for the group in providing education regarding rainfall disasters by providing details about the consequences of high rainfall and the group also provides health education regarding chikungunya disease. Before the counseling is given, the group gives a pretest to the residents and a post test is given after the counseling has been given, where the pre-test and post-test function as a group evaluation to see the understanding of the material the residents have given the counseling to by the group. The group prepared educational media in the form of posters and leaflets which were distributed during outreach. When the group pretest asked about the residents' educational background, the questionnaire results showed that 55% of the residents of RT.004/RW.002 were high school graduates, 12.5% were junior high school graduates and elementary school graduates.

The pre-test and post-test provide a significant difference in that residents' knowledge increases regarding rainfall disasters and chikungunya disease, as evidenced by the results of questionnaires regarding disaster prevention or mitigation, as many as 77.1% of local residents do not take precautions when a disaster does not occur and as many as 28, 9% of the population makes pre-disaster preparations even when a disaster does not occur. Apart from that, as many as 65.8% of local residents did not take precautions before a disaster occurred and as many as 34.2% of residents made pre-disaster preparations. In the post-disaster period, 73.3% of residents did not know what to do.

Questions regarding rain disasters and chikungunya disease in the pretest, an average of 68% of residents who came answered questions with insufficient knowledge so that the questions given were not answered correctly, questions regarding the consequences of high rainfall had the highest percentage of answers answered incorrectly by residents. In the Posttest, there was an increase in residents' knowledge with an average of 70% of residents answering correctly the questions previously asked.

So it can be concluded that the counseling that has been given by the group has had a good impact on the residents of RT 004 RW 002 in knowing the mitigation, pre-disaster and post-disaster that has been provided by the group. Not only that, residents also have knowledge about chikungunya disease and a little other understanding about diseases from high rainfall disasters. The counseling was carried out not in accordance with the agreed time contract, this was because the group was waiting for the residents to gather all together but the residents who attended did not match the group's target, this was because the residents who could not attend had their own affairs. During the outreach, residents expressed high enthusiasm in following the agenda planned by the group. Residents were also enthusiastic in asking several questions to group members and residents were satisfied with the answers given by the group. Even though there was a little disturbance from several small children running around during the counseling, being a bit noisy, and not focusing on listening to the counseling, the group was able to overcome this disturbance well. Apart from that, group members have carried out the tasks that have been given and have been carried out well. Such as the MC who can build an atmosphere and lighten the mood, the presenter who has mastered the material well and can explain it easily to the residents, the facilitator who has facilitated the equipment when the demonstration is to be carried out and facilitates the continuation of this event, the documentation has also been done well, and also the observer can carry out their duties well and ensure whether the residents understand or not when the event is taking place and also observe the group members. The group members did their work according to the tasks that had been discussed first before coming to RT004 RW002 Limo Village to carry out counseling.
