FIKES UPNVJ - Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever or commonly called DHF is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through mosquito vectors of the Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopictus species. DHF itself has become an annual epidemic that usually occurs during the rainy season and can become a health disaster in Indonesia. As of March 1, 2024, there were nearly 16,000 cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) occurring in 213 Regencies/Cities in Indonesia with a total of 124 deaths (RI Ministry of Health, 2024). Based on data from the West Java provincial government as of March 8 2024, cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) in West Java have reached 7,654 cases (West Java Provincial Health Service, 2024). One of the cities in West Java that is affected by dengue fever is Depok. Data from the Depok Health Office shows that at the beginning of 2024 there was a fairly high increase in cases, namely in January there were 202 cases and an increase in February which reached 328 cases (Depok Health Service, 2024).
The results of the study carried out in the RT 01 RW 03 Limo Village area showed that the majority of health problems that emerged in the last 3 months were dengue fever. This is supported by the fact that less than a quarter of the residents of RT 01 are confirmed to have been affected by dengue fever, with a wide range between residents. Apart from that, data was obtained that residents in RT 01 still rarely carry out routine community service, but the head of RT 01 still plays an active role in monitoring environmental conditions around RT 01. The results of the assessment showed that community knowledge regarding dengue fever was still inadequate. Therefore, on Tuesday, April 30 2024, mitigation activities in the form of health education were carried out at the RT 01 RW 03 Tennis Court, Limo Village, Depok City, carried out by Undergraduate Nursing Study Program Students. This health mitigation program has the theme "Smart Communities Overcome Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) with Jumantik".
This mitigation was attended by Mr Solihin as chairman of RT 01, Ns. Sang Ayu Made Adyani, M.Kep, Sp.Kep, Kom as supervisor of group 7, all members of group 7 as activity committee and 15 residents of RT 01 as mitigation participants. This activity aims to increase the knowledge of the RT 01 community and to increase the awareness of the RT 01 community regarding the possibility of an outbreak of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). The schedule for this activity begins with registering participants and completing the pre-test, followed by remarks delivered by the chief executive and head of RT 01, Limo Village. Then the activity continued with the presentation of certificates represented by the chief executive to the head of RT 01, Limo Village. Next, the material was presented by members of group 7. On this occasion the presenters presented material related to dengue fever. The material presented is in the form of understanding, causes, signs, symptoms, complications, prevention, treatment and supporting examinations for Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. Apart from that, this activity also provided socialization about jumantik by demonstrating the use of abate. During the activity, the people of RT 01 looked very enthusiastic and active in participating in this mitigation activity. This mitigation activity ended with a post test and a group photo and closing by the presenter. It is hoped that with this health mitigation activity, the RT 01 community can prevent or handle the high number of dengue fever cases that occur in Depok.
