FIKES UPNVJ - On Tuesday, April 23 2024, health education activities were carried out with the theme of flood disaster mitigation for vulnerable elderly groups located in the RW 10 area, Limo Village, Depok City, West Java. This activity was carried out in the context of Disaster Preparedness Month which was scheduled in the Matra Health course. UPNVJ Nursing Professional Students who are members of the 14th disaster mitigation group gathered at the UPNVJ FIKES Building first at 09.00 to prepare the event needs.
Then the students departed together from the UPNVJ FIKES Building to the event location, precisely at Posbindu Graseka Hall, Taman Murai, Limo Village, Depok. Activities start at 10.30 to 12.00 WIB. This activity begins with the attendance of the counseling participants first, followed by a blood pressure check by the students. After that, snacks were distributed while waiting for all the health education participants to arrive. This was then continued with remarks from the Chair of Posbindu Graseka and the Deputy Chair of RW 10. The event continued with the delivery of health education material regarding flood disaster mitigation for vulnerable elderly groups by students and continued with a question and answer session. The health education activity ended with a group photo of the health education participants and students. The aim of this activity is to provide new knowledge regarding mitigation or preparedness that must be carried out among residents at risk of flood disasters, especially among the vulnerable elderly groups.
The series of material presented includes the meaning of mitigation, flooding and vulnerable groups. Then it is continued with material on things that need to be prepared to face flood disasters in families with vulnerable elderly groups and equipment that needs to be prepared to face the threat of flood disasters. Next, we discuss the impact of flood disasters on the elderly and the environment. Then it closes with a discussion about diseases that need to be watched out for during a flood disaster and how to prevent them. The question and answer session was interactive. The elderly who attended this health education activity were enthusiastic about the material presented. Many questions arose in this question and answer session so the discussion went well.
