PBL Health Planning and Evaluation Course of Public Health Study Program

FIKES UPNVJ - On Sunday, April 10, 2022, students of group 1 class B class 2020 of the Undergraduate Public Health Study Program carried out community service as one of the learning outputs for the Health Planning and Evaluation course. This course is taught by Mrs. Chahya Kharin Herbawani, S.Keb., Bd., MKM. Community service activities are part of the Project Based Learning (PBL) learning method. Problem Based Learning or problem-based learning is a teaching model characterized by real problems as a context for students (students) to learn critical thinking and problem solving skills and gain knowledge. From this learning method, students are expected to gain skills in problem solving, skills in critical thinking, skills in group work, interpersonal and communication skills, and information search and processing skills.

Community service activities were carried out on April 10, 2022 by UPN Veterans Jakarta Public Health students Group 2 Class 4B. The activity was held at the Indonesian Orphanage located in Rawamangun, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta. The target of this program is orphanage children aged 5-15 years. This community service activity raised the theme of Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS). This program is carried out by providing education about PHBS which is delivered through laptop media and PowerPoint. The purpose of this program is to increase the knowledge, willingness, and ability of children in implementing PHBS. The counseling material presented was about a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) that can be done by children at the Indonesian Orphanage (PYI).

Throughout the counseling session, the presentation of material was also assisted with PowerPoint media. In addition, the implementation of community service also uses the FGD (Focus Group Discussion) method. So that the presenters and the children of the Indonesian Orphanage (PYI) can discuss and interact with each other regarding the material provided. Meanwhile, at the evaluation stage, interviews or questions and answers were conducted regarding the material for clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) so that the community service team could find out and confirm the children's understanding of PHBS.

Counseling on a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) at the Indonesian Orphanage (PYI) Rawamangun, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta went well. The method of presenting material or lectures conducted through laptops and Power Point in this counseling was able to increase the knowledge and understanding of orphanages in implementing Clean and Healthy Living (PHBS) behavior. The implementation of this community service is expected to be able to help the orphanage in educating the children and to create a clean and healthy orphanage environment so that the health status of the orphanage children can increase.
