Project Mitigasi Kesehatan Matra “Bersama Kita Meminimalisir Dampak Gempa Bumi”

FIKES UPNVJ - On Tuesday, April 23 2024, disaster mitigation activities were carried out in the form of Health Education and Earthquake Demonstrations which were carried out at the Merpati Posyandu located in RW 01 Limo Village, Limo District, Depok City by Students from the Nurse Professional Study Program. The mitigation theme is "Together We Minimize the Impact of Earthquakes" where the activity aims to increase community knowledge (public awareness) in dealing with and reducing the impact/risk of disasters, knowing, recognizing and identifying disaster-prone areas as a basis or guideline for community planning. This activity discusses earthquakes, the impacts that can result from earthquakes, earthquake disaster preparedness, and demonstrations when an earthquake occurs. This mitigation activity was attended by Mrs. Siti Komariah as Mrs. RT 05, local Health Cadres, as well as residents of RW 01 Limo Village, Limo District, Depok City.

During the activity, the students received a warm welcome from the residents of RW 01, Limo Village, where the residents were very enthusiastic about listening to the material and undergoing an earthquake demonstration from the Nursing Professional Students of UPN Veteran Jakarta. The results of this activity were that residents filled out pre-test and post-test questionnaires to assess how well residents understood earthquakes. There was an 18% increase in residents' knowledge, a 25% increase in residents' attitudes towards earthquake disasters, and a 44% increase in residents' skills regarding first responders in the event of an earthquake.
