Educational Counseling in Facing Flood Disaster Risks

FIKES UPNVJ - Group 6 of the Nursing Study Program, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Nursing Profession Program, has held a series of Educational Counseling events in Facing Flood Disaster Risks in RT 04/ RW 09, Grogol Village, Depok City which was organized by Nursing Students of Group 6 UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Nursing Profession on Friday, April 25, 2025 which was held offline at RT 04/RW 09, Grogol Village, Limo District, Depok, West Java with the theme "Education on Preparation in Facing Flood Disaster Risks".

Flood mitigation counseling activities are one of the targets for achieving the Nursing Profession practice of the Matra Health stage. Group 6 of the UPN: Veteran” Jakarta Nursing Profession Study Program with Supervisor Ns. Chandra Tri Wahyudi, M.Kes., M.Kep. The purpose of this outreach activity is to improve community preparedness and ability in dealing with flood disasters through an understanding of risk mitigation and the provision of appropriate emergency bag equipment, so as to minimize the impact of disasters and support the evacuation process and handling of victims effectively and efficiently. This activity provides a forum in the form of outreach to the community of RT 04/RW 09, Grogol Village, Depok, regarding education, demonstrations, and questions and answers on related themes.On Friday, April 25, 2025, the activity started at 14.30 WIB until 15.30 WIB at one of the residents' houses in RT 04/RW 09, Grogol Village, Depok City, West Java. This activity was attended by Mrs. Ida Rohyani as the head of RT 04, and also attended by Mrs. Wasikem as a local cadre and 21 participants who were residents around RT 04/ RW 09, Grogol Sub-district, Depok City, West Java.

This outreach activity was guided by Alvira Ayu Puspita, an active student of the Nursing Profession as the Master of Ceremony. This activity began by singing the song Indonesia Raya and the National Defense March. Then continued with speeches, the first speech was delivered by the Chairperson of the Committee, Rana Rozanna, the second speech was delivered by Mrs. Ida Rohyani as the Chairperson of RT 04/RW 09.

The next series of events was filling in the pre-test guided by the committee and continued with material on the Flood Concept and Demonstration of First Aid for Stab Wounds by Sofya Nur Shoumi and Charrisa Tiara Putri. After the education, the activity continued with a question and answer session and filling in the post-test, as well as an evaluation of the activity process guided by the committee. The last series of events were the handover of certificates, documentation sessions, health checks and closing by the MC. The benefits of this activity are to increase the insight of the author and the community regarding flood disaster mitigation.
