Flood Disaster Mitigation Dimension Health Practice Project "Flood Preparedness: Survive Floods, Prevent Diarrhea, Maintain Clean Water."

FIKES UPNVJ - In order to increase public awareness and preparedness in facing natural disasters, especially floods, a Flood Disaster Mitigation Counseling Project activity was held with the theme "Flood Preparedness: Safe from Floods, Prevent Diarrhea, Maintain Clean Water." on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Fattihiyah Mosque RT 07 RW 01, Limo Village, Depok City. This activity is part of the practice of the health profession dimension which aims to increase public preparedness in facing the risk of flooding which is expected to strengthen the community's capacity to reduce the impact of flood disasters in the future. Through this counseling, the community is expected to be able to respond to flood situations, excel in making quick decisions, and be intact in maintaining mutual safety in flood conditions. This event was attended by, Mr. RW 01 Mr. Udin, Treasurer and Public Relations of RT 07 RW 01 Mr. Selamet and Mr. Ihwan, Mrs. Majelis Taklim RT 07 RW 01 Limo Village Mrs. Ummi and local residents of RT 72 RW 01 Limo Village who enthusiastically attended this flood mitigation counseling event.

The next activity was the speeches given by several parties, namely a speech from the Head of the group, Muhammad Harits, S.Kep, followed by a speech by Mr. Selamet as Treasurer of RT 07 RW 01 Limo Village and continued by a speech by Mr. Udin as Head of RW 01 Limo Village. In this counseling, participants received education about the meaning, signs, potential, dangers of flood risk in the Depok area, mitigation steps that can be taken at home, and how to protect yourself or a proper independent evacuation simulation when a flood occurs and how to process dirty water due to flooding into clean water. This material was delivered by Widiya Astuti, S.Kep and Fina Fijriah, S.Kep. Furthermore, participants were given the opportunity for a question and answer session.

The activity continued with a demonstration of how to process dirty water during floods into clean water demonstrated by Regita Cahya, S.Kep. Afterwards, several participants were asked to try directly compiling and making a water filter tool using used bottles. In its implementation, the participants were very active and enthusiastic about this simulation. After that, the certificate was handed over from the campus to the RT 07 RW 01 environment represented by the RW and the local RT Public Relations. Then the distribution of door prizes for participants who asked questions and did the simulation. Before the event closed, participants filled in the post-test link to evaluate this activity. The activity ended with a prayer reading by the MC and a group photo with all participants and the committee.

With the knowledge and skills gained, it is hoped that the community will be able to be responsive, superior in acting, and intact in maintaining mutual safety. Hopefully this activity will be a real step towards realizing a community that is more aware, prepared, and resilient in facing the threat of flooding in the future.
