FIKES UPNVJ - Jakarta, Friday, December 6, 2024 – The Socialization and Free Examination Activity organized by Physiotherapy students of the Undergraduate Program of the National Development University (UPN) "Veteran" Jakarta in the context of Project Based Learning (PjBL) was a success and received a positive response from the community. The activity, which was held at RT.08 Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, aims to provide an understanding of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, as well as to conduct free health checks for youth of the Karang Taruna.
This activity was attended by the local RT Head, as well as the Youth of Karang Taruna RT.08 Kramat Jati who enthusiastically participated in the entire series of events. The Chairperson of the PjBL Executive, Khaira Zahfarina Fatah, said that teenagers and young people are a very crucial age group in shaping the future of the nation. "At this time, individuals are often exposed to various social challenges and have high egos. This can have an impact on unhealthy lifestyles, so it is important for us to provide education from an early age," he said.
In the presentation session, members of the student group consisting of Khaira Zahfarina Fatah and Nabila Rizky Amelia became speakers who delivered information about the importance of maintaining health and recognizing risk factors related to lifestyle. They provided explanations about simple ways that can be done to maintain body health, especially for teenagers and young people who are vulnerable to being exposed to unhealthy lifestyles.
The participants showed active interaction throughout the session, especially in the question and answer session. Several local residents who attended as volunteer practitioners asked about the health problems they faced and how to overcome them. This discussion was very productive and provided a deeper understanding of the importance of maintaining health holistically.
After the presentation session, the activity continued with a free blood pressure health check-up conducted by the implementing team for the participants. This examination aims to provide an initial picture of the health conditions of residents, especially related to risk factors for diseases that are often experienced by many people, such as hypertension.
During the examination session, the implementing team also conducted a question and answer session with the participants about health risk factors that are often overlooked. Through this conversation, participants are expected to be more aware of the importance of routine check-ups and changes to a healthier lifestyle to prevent diseases that can harm long-term health.
The activity ended with the provision of information about health programs that can be accessed by the public for free. The participants welcomed this activity and hoped that similar events could be held periodically to increase health awareness in their environment.
With the implementation of this activity, Physiotherapy students of the Undergraduate Program of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta hope to provide a positive contribution to society and inspire the younger generation to care more about a healthy lifestyle.
