PJBL Physiotherapy Examination and Measurement: Coordination, Balance, and Cognitive Examination in the Sasana Anggrek Elderly Community 14

FIKES UPNVJ - South Tangerang, On Friday, November 22, 2024, a Project Based Learning (PjBL) activity was carried out in the Physiotherapy Examination and Measurement course entitled "Coordination, Balance, and Cognitive Examination of the Sasana Anggrek 14 Elderly Community." The activity was held at Pamulang Permai 1, South Tangerang, and was attended by 30 participants who were members of the Sasana Anggrek 14 Elderly Community
The activity began at 06.30 WIB with preparations by all group members. After the arrival of the elderly community members and gymnastics instructors, the event was officially opened by the Chairperson of the Elderly Community, Mr. Muljono, and hosted by Heralifia Pristi Ammara as the MC. Morning exercise started at 07.05 WIB, attended by several members of the student group, members of the elderly community, and guided by an exercise instructor from Eltekers Indonesia Sejahtera
At 07.45 WIB, the therapeutic exercise was completed and the activity was continued with the mobilization of the elderly to the previously divided checkpoints. Each post was prepared with a specific task to measure various aspects of the elderly's physical and cognitive condition. Keiko Alya Nugroho and Melda Juwita were assigned to carry out the Vital Signs (TTV) examination, which included measuring blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate to monitor the basic health condition of each participant. At the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) checkpoint, Syalaisya Awliya Fasya and Adinda Khansa were responsible for testing the cognitive function of the elderly, including orientation, attention, memory, and language abilities. Meanwhile, Naura Nurfadhiya and Arystio Farhansyah were responsible for the coordination test using the Finger to Nose test method, aimed at assessing the accuracy of hand movements and the stability of motor coordination. At the Timed Up and Go post, Farah Aisha and Heralifia Pristi Ammara guided the elderly in carrying out tests to measure their ability to perform fast movements and body balance when moving from a sitting position to standing, walking, and returning to a sitting position. All series of examination tests went smoothly and were completed at 09.15 WIB
After the elderly completed all the examination tests, the event continued with a group photo session as a form of memento. In addition, certificates were given as a form of appreciation to the Sasana Anggrek 14 Elderly Community for their participation and support in the smooth implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) activities in the Physiotherapy Examination and Measurement course.
