Maternity Nursing PJBL "Recognize Dysmenorrhea, Understand Your Menstruation: Education on Understanding Dysmenorrhea for Students of SMPN 13 Depok"

FIKES UPNVJ - On Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 09.00 - 12.00 WIB, students of the Undergraduate Nursing Study Program, class of 2023, class B FIKES UPN "Veteran" Jakarta carried out a socialization activity as a Final Project Assignment for the Maternity Nursing course. Chaired by Luna Rafhifah Aziz and Syalwa Dwi Novianti and supervised by Ns. Dora Samaria, SKep, M.Kep., the activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 13 Depok. There were 32 students from grade 8 who participated in this activity. The theme of the activity was "Caring for Yourself, Creating a Sense of Eternal Comfort". This activity is expected to enable participants to understand dysmenorrhea, myths about menstruation, and dysmenorrhea exercises.

The activity began with an opening by Anabela Sidik and remarks from the head of the committee and from the school of SMP Negeri 13 Depok, Mr. Iswadi, as well as the awarding of certificates of appreciation. The activity continued with a pre-test to measure students' understanding before the presentation of the material. Towards the core of the activity, a presentation of material was carried out by Nawra Fazila, Difa Razki, and Alia Resti containing an understanding of dysmenorrhea, dysmenorrhea factors, menstruation myths, and how to relieve dysmenorrhea. In addition, we also invited students to do dysmenorrhea exercises as a way to relieve dysmenorrhea. A post-test was carried out after the presentation of the material to measure the level of students' understanding. The activity then ended with an interactive session, ice breaking, closing, and joint documentation.

The results of the pre-test that had been carried out showed that the average score of the students was at 42.18 with the lowest score of 20 (4 students) and the highest score of 70 (3 students). The results of the post-test showed an increase in the average score of the students to 62.81 with the lowest score of 30 (1 student) and the highest score of 90 (3 students). It can be concluded that after the presentation of the material and the provision of educational media in the form of leaflets and posters, there was an increase in the average value of female students by 20.63%.
