FIKES UPNVJ - Undergraduate Nursing Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, UPN “Veteran” Jakarta is proud to invite foreign lecturers from the United States as guest lecturers to fill the Large Class (KB) Maternity Nursing learning activity for S1 Nursing students, semester 3.

The activity was held on November 9, 2024 and was attended by at least 110 students and lecturers from FIKES UPNVJ. The activity began with a welcoming speech and opening from Mrs. Rita Ismail, SKp, MKM, MTD (HE), PhD as the coordinator of the MK. Maternity Nursing. The guest lecturer in this activity was Dr. Kader Tekkas Karman, PhD, MSN, BSN. He is a lecturer at the Department of Nursing, California State University Northridge, USA. Dr. Karman presented material on "Evidence-Based Practice in Maternity Nursing for Excellent Patient Outcomes". Dr. Karman emphasized the importance of nurses' knowledge of Evidence Based Practice in implementing clinical actions for maternity patients, such as the use of skin to skin contact after delivery can have a positive effect on newborns. Various questions were asked by participants regarding the application of evidence-based in maternity nursing and a comparison of its application in the United States and Indonesia. The event ended with the presentation of certificates and a group photo.
