FIKES UPNVJ - On Sunday, October 27, 2024, the "Peaceful Elderly Field Project (Safe Diabetes, Mental and Ideal Activities)" was held as a fulfillment of the final assignment for the Gerontic Nursing course. This event was organized by a group of Nursing Study Program Students (Semester 7) who are active students of the Nursing Study Program class of 2021. This activity was attended by 28 elderly people in the Baitul Malik BIG Foundation environment. RT 06 / RW 01, Grogol Village, Depok City, West Java.

This event was held at 08.00 - 11.10 WIB at the Baitul Malik BIG Foundation. RT 06 / RW 01, Grogol Village, Depok City, West Java, accompanied by our supervisor, Ns. Sang Ayu Made Adyani, M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Kom,. The purpose of this event is to provide information related to information on health problems of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), namely diabetes, providing training on diabetes gymnastics, and guided imagery therapy in the Grogol Village, Limo District, Depok City, West Java.

This activity began with participant registration and a health check, namely checking the blood pressure and blood sugar of participants. The opening of the event was carried out by the MC and then continued with the Diabetes Mellitus (DM) Gymnastics activity. After the gymnastics, a pre-test was given to the participants and then continued with another blood pressure check after the gymnastics.

The event continued with remarks from the Chief Executive and the Chairperson of the Baitul Malik DKM, then entered the main event, namely the presentation of material on diabetes mellitus.

After the presentation session on diabetes mellitus by students, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions about the presentation that had been delivered. This was followed by an Ice Breaking session to lighten the atmosphere and give students time to formulate answers. After the Ice Breaking was finished, students enthusiastically answered all questions asked by the participants.

After the Ice-Breaking and Q&A session, the event continued with guided imagery therapy. After guided imagery therapy was performed on the participants, students asked the participants how they felt to determine the effectiveness of the therapy that had been performed. The event then continued with a Post-test session to determine the participants' understanding. After the material presentation and simulation sessions were completed, the event continued with the awarding of door prizes for participants with the best questions and active participants, the presentation of certificates and closed by the MC. After that, it was continued with a group photo session. (RN/TAF)
