FIKES UPNVJ - On Sunday, June 2 2024, Project Based Learning (PJBL) activities for the Exercise Physiology course with the title "Measurement of Body Composition and Flexibility in Cancer Patients" were held at the Lions Halfway House. Precisely located on Jalan Katalia I Timur, No.2, RT.4/RW.7, Kota Bambu Utara, Kec. Palmerah, West Jakarta City.
The PJBL activity for the Exercise Physiology course was attended by 8 participants who were residents of the Lions Halfway Home who were suffering from cancer. Before the activity begins, group members make preparations for the smooth running of PJBL activities. The activity started at 08.20 WIB with an introduction session for group members and participants. The event was opened by Farah Aisha Prayitno as MC and continued with a brief explanation regarding the measurements that would be carried out by Nicole Dara Passa.
At 08.30 WIB the measurement activities began. The group members already have their respective roles. Arystio Farhansyah and Aziah Aziani were tasked with carrying out Vital Signs Tests, namely blood pressure, oxygen saturation and pulse on participants. The Vital Signs Test is a basic procedure to determine a person's health condition and body function.
The Hand Grip Strength Test aims to measure the isometric strength of the grip. Nicole Dara Passa and Siti Fatimah Azzahra were tasked with measuring the participants' grip strength using Hand Grip. After taking the Vital Signs Test and Hand Grip Strength Test, the participants took the Timed Up and Go and WHR tests by measuring the participant's waist and hip circumference. Naura Nurfadhiya and Farah Aisha are responsible for conducting the Timed Up and Go and WHR tests.
At 09.30 WIB the measurement activity was completed and continued with playing the animal-themed "Guess the Style" game, for participants who could answer the questions received prizes that had been prepared. After the games session is over, group members sing together with the members and share stories about hobbies, favorite songs and many other things with the participants. At 10.40 WIB a group photo session was held and gifts and certificates were given to the Lions Halfway House as a sign of appreciation and thanks. The MC closed the event and the group members said goodbye to the Lions Halfway House to leave the PJBL venue.
Bekasi – The second PJBL activity was carried out on Tuesday, June 11 2024 in La Spezia, Bekasi. This measurement activity was attended by around 20 cancer survivors from the Srikandi Community. Held at 08.00 WIB, starting with the opening and continuing with measurements of body composition and flexibility by Group 1 from Class B S1 Physiotherapy. Group 1 Class A S1 Physiotherapy assisted in measuring body composition and flexibility in cancer survivors who were accompanied by the Exercise Physiology Lecturer, Mrs. Nazhira, S.Fis, Ftr, M.Fis, AIFO. This activity lasted until 11.00 WIB and a documentation session was held by Class B and the Srikandi Community as the closing of the Exercise Physiology PJBL activity. (NN)
