Mitigation and Preparedness: Let's Improve Our Greetings "Together Against ISPA"

FIKES UPNVJ - On April 30 2024, outreach activities took place smoothly at the Nurul Hakim Mosque which coincided with RT 07/01 Limo District, Depok City. This mitigation and preparedness counseling is the final project of the Matra Health Practice course. This counseling aims to increase knowledge and skills in handling ISPA as a step to prevent the occurrence of ISPA in the community in the RW 01 RT 07 area, Limo District, Depok City.

This activity was attended by Mrs. Siti Pantrima as chairman of Majlis Ta'lim Nurul Hakim, as well as residents in the RW 01 RT 07 area, Limo District, Depok City. This mitigation and preparedness counseling activity started at 14.30 WIB which was opened by Ruty Erina Damayanti (2010711001) and Nurul Izza (2010711029) as event presenters, then followed by remarks from Widiya Astuti (2010711026) as the chief organizer of this mitigation and preparedness counseling activity. Before the material is presented, participants are asked to complete a pre-test as a measure of knowledge, skills and behavior before being given counseling regarding ISPA.

The activity continued with the main event, namely the presentation of material by Widiya Astuti (2010711026) and Khoirotun Nisa'i (2010711059) who discussed air pollution material (understanding, causes and prevention of the effects of air pollution), ISPA material (understanding, causes, signs and symptoms, prevention methods, as well as implementation of ISPA) apart from that, the material presentation also demonstrated the etiquette of coughing and sneezing as an effort to prevent transmission of ISPA.

The activity continued with a discussion session (question and answer) led by the presenter. There were three questions asked by three representatives from the community of RW 01 RT 07 Limo District, Depok City. After the question and answer session was finished, the event continued with completing a post-test as a measure of whether there was an increase in the knowledge, skills and behavior of the people of RW 01 RT 07 Limo District, Depok City after the counseling was carried out.

Next, the event closed with the handover of souvenirs to the three best questioners as a reward and thanks from the 2020 Class of 2020 Matra Health Practice Group 1 students.

It is hoped that by holding mitigation and preparedness outreach activities with the theme "Let's Improve "BERSAPA" Together Against ISPA", we can increase knowledge and skills in handling ISPA as a step to prevent the occurrence of ISPA in the community of RW 01 RT 07 Limo District, Depok City.
