Matra Health Mitigation Project "Health Education About Chikungunya"

FIKES UPNVJ - On Tuesday, April 23 2024, health education activities regarding Chikungunya were carried out in the context of disaster mitigation located at the RT/RW 02/08 Badminton Gymnasium, Limo District, Limo District, Depok City by students of the UPN Veteran Jakarta Nurse Professional Study Program . This health education is a series of disaster mitigation activities in the health dimension course. This activity was carried out after students collected data regarding problems that often occur in the RW 02 area, Limo Village.

The aim of this activity is to increase knowledge and prepare the community to face changing conditions or what is known as dimension conditions. Matra Health itself is a special form of health effort which is carried out to improve physical and mental abilities to adapt to an environment that is changing significantly, both on land, sea and air. Matra health is implemented to reduce the risk of health problems and maintain good health in the community when facing matra conditions.

This event was attended by the Head of RT 08 and there was a free health check for blood pressure, blood sugar and uric acid checks. This health education activity regarding chikungunya starts at 10:20. The event began with greetings and filling out a pretest questionnaire to determine the participants' knowledge regarding chikungunya disease which has been occurring recently in the RW 02 area. The event continued with a presentation of chikungunya material by Talita Alifa and continued with an explanation regarding the prevention of chikungunya, making anti-mosquito medicine using citronella by Indira Cahyani .

After the presentation of the material, a discussion and question and answer session opened. Participants who attended actively asked and discussed how to prevent and treat chikungunya disease. Participants also shared experiences related to chikungunya disease that they experienced recently. After the discussion and question and answer session, participants were given a post-test questionnaire again to find out whether the participants had understood the material that had been presented. This was followed by giving lavender plant seeds by professional nurse students to Mrs. RT 08, which was an effort to prevent mosquito bites. By providing lavender plant seeds, it is hoped that the residents of RW 02 will be able to breed these seeds so that residents can always avoid diseases caused by mosquitoes. The activity ended with a group photo and giving souvenirs to all participants.
