Matra Health Mitigation Project "GERAK (Earthquake: Education, Response, Adaptation and Preparedness)"

FIKES UPNVJ - On Tuesday, April 30 2024, GERAK (EARTHQUAKE: Education, Response, Adaptation and Preparedness) activities took place at RT 02 RW 15 Limo Village, Limo District, Depok City, West Java. The GERAK (EARTHQUAKE: Education, Response, Adaptation and Preparedness) activity is a mitigation and preparedness project activity in the form of outreach with a lecture approach regarding the concept of earthquakes. This activity also carried out demonstrations on earthquake disaster management. The aim of carrying out this activity is to provide insight and skills to the community which will indirectly influence attitudes and behavior, especially in reducing the risk and impact of disasters so that the community can anticipate and respond to emergency situations every disaster that occurs, especially earthquakes. This activity was carried out in order to fulfill the Health Practical assignments for students of the 2020 Undergraduate Nursing Study Program.

The GERAK activity (EARTHQUAKE: Education, Response, Adaptation and Preparedness) was attended by Mrs. Desak Nyoman Sithi, S.Kp., MARS., PhD as our supervisor, Mr. Abdul Rozi as head of RT 2 RW 15, and residents of RT 2 RW 15 Limo Village, Limo District.

The GERAK (EARTHQUAKE: Education, Response, Adaptation and Preparedness) activity started at 16.00 WIB which was opened by Siti Fatima Azzahra (2010711113) as Master of Ceremony. Before entering the main event, residents took a pre-test accompanied by us. The activity continued with a symbolic handover of plaques from students represented by the Chief Executive and Supervising Lecturer to the head of RT 2 RW 15. Then entered the main event, namely counseling regarding earthquakes and demonstrations on earthquake disaster management carried out by Sila Aimanatul Afifah (2010711116) and Silva Fauziah (2010711012). After the counseling and demonstration, a question and answer session continued and a post test was completed. This activity closed with a group photo.

It is hoped that by holding the GERAK (EARTHQUAKE: Education, Response, Adaptation and Preparedness) activities, residents of RT 2 RW 15 can increase their knowledge, change attitudes and skills to prepare themselves before, during and after an earthquake disaster occurs.
