Adult Nursing PjBL Musculoskeletal System, Integument, Sensory Perception, and Nervous System "Cataract Education and Prevention with Joint Eye Exercises"

FIKES UPNVJ - Group 1 Class C Nursing Study Program Undergraduate Program UPN "Veteran" Jakarta - A series of events for Cataract Prevention Counseling and Eye Exercise Demonstration were held by Nursing Students Group 1 Class C Nursing Study Program Undergraduate Program UPN "Veteran" Jakarta on Saturday, March 22, 2025 which was held offline at the Al-Hikmah Jami' Mosque, RT 003 / RW 10, Kp. Rawakalong, Grogol Village, Kec. Limo, Depok, West Java with the theme "Cataract Education and Prevention with SEMAR: Joint Eye Exercise"

The Cataract Prevention Counseling Activity and Eye Exercise Demonstration is one of the target achievements of the Adult Nursing Course on the Musculoskeletal System, Integument, Sensory Perception, and Nervous System for Group 1 Class C of the Nursing Study Program, Undergraduate Program, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta with Field Supervisor Lecturer, namely Ns. Mareta Dea Rosaline, S.Kep., M.Kep. The purpose of this counseling activity is to increase knowledge, awareness, and active role of the community and stakeholders in maintaining eye health, preventing cataracts, and reducing blindness rates through promotive, preventive approaches, and implementation of learning methods. This activity provides a forum in the form of counseling to the community of Kp. Rawakalong, Grogol, Depok regarding education, demonstrations, and questions and answers on related themes.

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, the activity started at 10:00 WIB until 12:15 WIB at the Jami' Al-Hikmah Grogol Depok West Java Mosque. This activity was attended by Mrs. Yuli, a representative of Mr. Pudin Budianto as the Head of RT 03, Mrs. Sami, Mrs. Wiwit, Mrs. Siti, Mrs. Salmah, Mrs. Wulan, and Mrs. Yeni as local cadres and 25 participants who were residents around the Jami' Al-Hikmah Grogol Depok West Java Mosque. The Cataract Counseling and Eye Exercise Demonstration activities were guided by Nanda Karina Agustin and Triana Regziani, active students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, class of 2022 as Master of Ceremony. The activity began by singing the song Indonesia Raya and the National Defense March. Then continued with speeches, the first speech was delivered by the Chief Executive, Amalia Nuraini, the second speech was delivered by Mrs. Yuli as the representative of the Head of RT 03, Mr. Pudin Budianto who was unable to attend, the last speech was delivered by the Head of Posyandu Harapan Bunda, Mrs. Marsiti.

The next series of events was the filling of the pre-test guided by the committee and continued with the presentation of material on Cataract Prevention by Silviana Sholihah and Dian Nurhaliza. After that, there was a demonstration of Eye Gymnastics guided by Fajar Adi Burhani and Tanti Fitria. After the education, the activity continued with ice breaking, a question and answer session, and filling of the post-test, as well as an evaluation of the activity process guided by the committee. The last series of events were the handover of certificates, documentation sessions, health checks and closing by the MC. The benefits of this activity are that the community can learn about cataract prevention, things to pay attention to and cataract treatment.
