Workshop Mendeley 2024 “Mendeley Mastery: Effective Strategies in Literature and Citation Management”

FIKES UPNVJ - Implementation of the 2024 Mendeley Workshop activities in order to fulfill the task of the reference manager application workshop project for the Academic Writing Course was held on Saturday 20 April 2024 online via the Zoom Meeting platform from 08.00 to 12.25 WIB. The 2024 Mendeley Workshop activities have the theme “Mendeley Mastery: Effective Strategies in Literature and Citation Management”. The aim of this activity is to improve the ability of active students of the Public Health Study Program of the UPN “Veteran” Jakarta Undergraduate Program in using the Mendeley Reference Manager application. The target of this activity was all active students of the Public Health Study Program UPN “Veteran” Jakarta Undergraduate Program and the general public, which was attended by 201 participants.

The 2024 Mendeley Workshop activities were guided by the Master of Ceremony (MC), namely Nadia Nugrahani as an active student of the Public Health Study Program, UPN “Veteran” Jakarta Undergraduate Program class of 2022. The series of 2024 Mendeley Workshop activities began with participant registration and pre-test work, opening, reading of the rules and output of Mendeley workshop assignments, as well as a group photo by the MC, listening to the songs Indonesia Raya and Mars Bela Negara, followed by a speech by Weni Nur Aisyah as Chief Executive of the 2024 Mendeley Workshop, then a speech by Mrs. Nayla Kamilia Fithri, S.K.M. , M.P.H. as Coordinator Secretary of the Public Health Study Program UPN “Veteran” Jakarta Undergraduate Program.

The next event was a presentation session on Introduction to Academic Writing material delivered by Mrs. Chahya Kharin Herbawani, S.Keb., Bd., M.K.M. After presenting the material on Introduction to Academic Writing, it was continued with the provision of Mendeley Workshop material by Mrs. Dr. Fajaria Nurcandra, SKM, M. Epid. The Mendeley Workshop material presentation session began with reading the Curriculum Vitae (CV) by the MC and continued with the presentation of material related to the Mendeley application. The presentation of Mendeley application material includes:

1. Explanation of the Mendeley application
2. Advantages of the Mendeley application
3. Operation tutorial on using the Mendeley application

After the Mendeley material presentation session ended, it was followed by a question and answer session regarding the Mendeley application. Then, participants also received further explanation with Mendeley practice guided by the facilitator in the Zoom Meeting breakout room. After all the series of events took place, participants were given a little refreshing with a fun ice breaking game. Finally, this event was closed by the MC. In closing, participants were encouraged by the MC to complete the Post-Test and Evaluation links as proof of attendance and complete assignments in the form of Mendeley practical output as a condition for obtaining a certificate.  (SADP/NAF)
