Webinar Series 1: Realizing Obesity-Free Indonesia: Efforts to Balance Nutrition, Implement a Healthy Diet, and Do Physical Activity

FIKES UPNVJ - Public Health Webinar Series 1 raised the topic of Balanced Nutrition with the theme Realizing an Obesity-Free Indonesia: Strive for Balanced Nutrition, Implement a Healthy Diet, and Perform Physical Activity. This activity will be held on Sunday 19 June 2022 through Zoom Meeting and live streaming on Youtube. This webinar activity was attended by approximately 810 participants through zoom meetings and 467 viewers via live streaming on Youtube who participated in the event from lecturers, students, and the general public.

This year's Series 1 Public Health Webinar presented several speakers, including Dr. Apriningsih, M.KM as Public Health Lecturer at UPN Veterans Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Dra.Nurhaedar Jafar, Apt., M.Kes as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Public Health, Hasanuddin University, and Andia Nabila as a Public Health Student at UPN Veterans Jakarta. This activity was opened by remarks from the chief executive of the Series 1 Public Health Webinar, Aditya Ferdiansyah. This was followed by remarks by the Head of the Public Health Study Program, namely Mr. Arga Bantara, S.KM, MPH,. and the last speech as well as the opening was opened by Mr. Sugianto, SE, MM,.

The webinar was continued with material presentation from Mrs. Dr. Apriningsih, M.KM regarding Obesity Trends in Indonesia. He stated that, “It is estimated that by 2030, one billion people worldwide, including 1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men, will be living with obesity.” He also mentioned that obesity can trigger other dangerous diseases such as diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, increased blood pressure.

The next webinar was followed by the presentation of the second material from Prof. Dr. Dra.Nurhaedar Jafar, Apt., M.Kes which is related to a Healthy Diet according to Balanced Nutrition Guidelines. The material consists of the nutritional needs of the community according to age and the urgency of maintaining nutritional status, dietary trends among the Indonesian people, and how to eat according to the Guidelines for Balanced Nutrition. He also stated that, "Diet is concerned with regulating consumption, not limiting consumption."

The last activity was the presentation of material from Andia Nabila which was related to the Implementation of Balanced Nutrition Guidelines through My Plate Contents and Physical Activity. The materials were divided into explanations related to the importance of prevention compared to cure, Implementation of Fill My Plate Easily and Cheaply with the slogan “Eat a rainbow”, and Implementation of Physical Activity, Clean and Healthy Living Behavior, and weight monitoring.
