FIKES UPNVJ - On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the work program Sharing Session OHSEF UPNVJ 2025 with the theme "Lockout Tagout (LOTO): Protecting Workers from Hazardous Energy" was successfully held. This event was organized by the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Forum (OHSEF) UPNVJ 2025. The activity was attended by 36 undergraduate students from the Public Health Study Program of UPN “Veteran” Jakarta. The purpose of this event was to enhance knowledge and skills in understanding and applying Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures to prevent accidents caused by hazardous energy in the workplace. It is expected that this activity will provide participants with an understanding of the basic concepts of LOTO and its urgency in occupational safety, explain standard LOTO procedures and their implementation in the workplace, identify potential hazards related to hazardous energy, and apply control measures using the LOTO method, as well as offer hands-on experience through simulation related to LOTO implementation in the professional world.
During its implementation, a series of activities were carried out. The event began with registration and a pre-test completed by participants. The pre-test was conducted to assess participants' initial knowledge before the material presentation. Then, the event was officially opened by the MCs, Najma Catri Wulansih and Ajeng Dwi Alyani, who are active students of the Public Health Undergraduate Program at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, class of 2022. The event continued with the reading of the agenda, house rules, safety induction video, and the national anthem "Indonesia Raya," along with the “Mars Bela Negara” and “Public Health March.” The next agenda was the welcoming speeches, delivered by: Pingkan Puspita Larasati (Event Chairperson), Ulwan Rahman (Chairperson of OHSEF UPNVJ 2025), The Chairperson of the Public Health Student Association (HMKM), and Dr. Chandrayani Simanjorang, S.K.M., M.Epid (Coordinator of the Public Health Study Program).
The next part of the event was the reading of the first speaker’s Curriculum Vitae (CV) by the MC. Then followed the first material presentation by Dr. Agus Joko Susanto, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., which discussed the introduction and regulations related to LOTO for about 25 minutes. After the first session, the second speaker’s CV was read, and the second presentation was delivered by Nur Azizah Wfiqoh Robbani, S.K.M., focusing on the practical implementation of LOTO in the workplace. After both presentations, a Q&A session was held with both speakers and moderated by the MC. The participants showed high enthusiasm, with several questions raised during this session. Following the Q&A session, the event continued with an ice-breaking activity, where participants actively engaged in answering questions.
Afterward, participants were guided into their respective Focus Group Discussion (FGD) groups. Each group was given a case related to LOTO and was tasked with developing a solution and implementation strategy based on their assigned case. Then, representatives from several groups presented their discussion results. The event continued with feedback and concluding remarks from the speakers.
After that, certificates were awarded to both speakers, and a prize was given to the most active participant. The event concluded with the post-test and an event evaluation, followed by a group photo session with the speakers, participants, and committee members. (ARN)
