World Physiotherapy Appreciation Day (WPAD) “Musculoskeletal Awareness and Management”

FIKES UPNVJ – A series of World Physiotherapy Appreciation Day (WPAD) activities have been held by the Physiotherapy Student Association of the Diploma Three Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, starting with the first activity, a Quiz Competition with the theme “Musculoskeletal Awareness and Management” on Saturday, August 31, 2024, which was held offline in Room 507, 5th Floor, MERCe Building, UPN “Veteran” Jakarta. The second activity was the peak event of World Physiotherapy Appreciation Day with the theme “Celebrating Movement: Honoring Years of Healing” on Sunday, September 8, 2024, which was held offline in the Southwest Cross Area of ​​the National Monument, Central Jakarta. The third activity was the National Scientific Writing Competition with the theme “Strengthen Your Health: Treat Low Back Pain With Confidence” on Saturday, September 14, 2024, which was held online on the Zoom Meeting Platform.

The 2024 World Physiotherapy Appreciation Day activity is one of the work programs held by the Department of Social Affairs which aims to enliven World Physiotherapy Day by promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, increasing kinship between physiotherapy students in parades, healthy walks and competitions and promoting the role of physiotherapy in maintaining and improving health. This activity is carried out in the form of a celebration of the world physiotherapy anniversary.

The first activity, on Saturday, August 31, 2024, was a Quiz Competition which took place offline in Room 507, 5th Floor, MERCe Building, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. The event started at 07.30 to 12.30 WIB. This activity was attended by 18 Quiz Competition participants from Physiotherapy Students of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, University of Indonesia, Binawan University, Poltekkes Jakarta III and the Hermina Health Institute. This activity was guided by Herena as the MC who is an Active Physiotherapy Student of Binawan University class of 2022. Then this activity began with participant registration, then the opening by the MC, remarks by the Chief Executive of World Physiotherapy Appreciation Day, then remarks by the Head of the Diploma Three Physiotherapy Study Program UPN "Veteran" Jakarta and remarks by the Deputy Dean III for Student Affairs, Alumni and Cooperation UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, continued with a group photo session by all participants and the committee. Then the Quiz Competition event started from round 1, round 2. After that it was continued with an ice breaking session, then a semi-final session and finally the closing of the event by the MC.

The second activity, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, the peak event of World Physiotherapy Appreciation Day with the theme "Celebrating Movement: Honoring Years of Healing" was held offline in the Southwest Silang Area of ​​the National Monument, Central Jakarta. The event started at 07.00 to 11.15 WIB. This activity was attended by 105 participants from Physiotherapy Study Program students at the Jakarta level and 110 participants from the general public. This activity was guided by Marcel Galaxi Siagian and Hanifah Alya Putri Kirana as the MCs who are Active Physiotherapy Students of the Hermina Health Institute class of 2023 and Active Physiotherapy Students of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta class of 2023. Then this activity began with participant registration, group exercise, walking, continued with a group photo session by all participants and the committee, opening by the MC, remarks by the Chief Executive of the World Physiotherapy Appreciation Day, then remarks by the Lecturer Representative, remarks by the Chairperson of PD IFI DKI Jakarta and remarks by the Representative of KTKI (Indonesian Health Workers Council), continued with a health check, singing the song Indonesia Raya, Mars IFI and Mars IMFI, talk show, entertainment, fun games, announcements and prize giving, and the closing of the event by the MC. The third activity, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, the National Scientific Writing Competition was held online on the Zoom Meeting Platform. The event started at 07.30 to 12.10 WIB. This activity was attended by 15 participants from Indonesian Physiotherapy Study Program Students. This activity was guided by Citra Nadila Imtinan as the MC who is an Active Physiotherapy Student of Poltekkes Jakarta III class of 2023. Then this activity began with an opening by the MC, remarks by the Chairperson of the National Scientific Writing Competition, then remarks by the Head of the Physiotherapy Department of Poltekkes Jakarta III, singing the song Indonesia Raya, praying, technical explanations and introduction of the jury by the MC, preparation of participants, presentations of groups 1-5, announcements and presentation of certificates and closing of the event by the MC.

The benefits of the World Physiotherapy Appreciation Day activity are to introduce the Physiotherapy Study Program, especially the Diploma Three Physiotherapy Program at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, as a forum for health promotion, and to provide participants with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the role of physiotherapy. The end of the 2024 World Physiotherapy Appreciation Day activity will be published on the social media of the Physiotherapy Student Association of the Diploma Three Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta.
