FIKES UPNVJ - The 2024 FIKES PKKMB event was officially opened with the beating of the gong by Mrs. Desmawati, SKp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat., PhD as the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and her staff. Then, the symbolically pinning of the 2024 FIKES new student name tags was carried out, thus marking the start of a series of activities that will introduce new students to academic and professional life in the health sector. Furthermore, a speech and presentation of material was given by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the material presented provided a big picture of the vision and mission of the faculty, history, and achievements that have been achieved by the Faculty of Health Sciences UPN "Veteran" Jakarta.
The next event was the speech of the Vice Chancellor for Planning, Finance and General Affairs of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Si. In her speech, Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Si. conveyed a strong inspirational and motivational message to new students and emphasized the importance of enthusiasm, dedication, and innovation in undergoing lectures.
One of the main highlights of the event was a special presentation by Assoc. Prof. TS. Dr. Nurul Huda from University of Malaysia Sabah on Food Innovation, providing an overview of the latest developments in health and nutrition. This session emphasized the importance of innovation and research in advancing health sciences. This was followed by a Panel Discussion by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, and Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation. After the break, the event continued with a Panel Discussion by the Head of Department and Study Program Coordinator who provided in-depth information about each study program at the Faculty of Health Sciences UPN “Veteran” Jakarta.
The next session was a presentation from the UPN “Veteran” Jakarta Library which introduced important facilities and services in the UPN “Veteran” Jakarta library for new students. The next activity was filled by a Panel Discussion from outstanding students in the FIKES UPN “Veteran” Jakarta environment followed by a presentation from the PPKS (Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence) Task Force, demonstrating the faculty's commitment to student welfare and safety. The event closed with a special performance from Faiza Athallah, an active Public Health undergraduate student from the 2023 batch who added enthusiasm and inspiration to the new FIKES 2024 students.
