Public Health Webinar Series: 2024 UPNVJ National Epidemiology Webinar “From A to (Gen) Z: Understanding Prediabetes, Key Steps to Diabetes Prevention”

FIKES UPNVJ - Public Health Webinar Series activities have been carried out: National Webinar on Epidemiology of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta 2024 with the theme "From A to (Gen) Z: Understanding Prediabetes, Key Steps to Diabetes Prevention" on Saturday, July 13 2024 online via the Zoom Meeting platform. This activity was organized by the Epidemiology Specialization of the Public Health Study Program, Class of 2021, as an effort to empower the community by increasing knowledge regarding the preparations needed regarding prediabetes as an important period to prevent the disease from progressing to diabetes through education and knowledge transfer.

The series of events started at 08.00 WIB, hosted by Nisrina Ananda Wiarfa, Public Health Study Program Student, Class of 2022, as Master of Ceremony (MC) and attended by 422 participants in the Zoom Meeting room. The activity began with an opening by the MC after participant registration, reading of the rules, a group photo session, and remarks by the Chief Executive of the Public Health Webinar Series: UPN "Veteran" National Epidemiology Webinar Jakarta 2024, Coordinator of the Public Health Study Program of the UPN "Veteran" Undergraduate Program ” Jakarta, as well as Deputy Dean III FIKES UPNVJ. The activity continued with the core series, namely the presentation of material by several speakers. The first presentation of material by Mr. Prof. Dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Sp.PD-KEMD, Ph.D., Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, as keynote speaker. After that, it was continued with the presentation of the second material by Mrs. Dr. Iche Andriyani Liberty, SKM, M. Biomed, Lecturer in Biomedicine, Sriwijaya University, as speaker 1 and the first question and answer session was guided by Mrs. Ulya Qoulan Karima, S.K.M., M. Epid., Lecturer in the Public Health Study Program, UPN "Veteran" Undergraduate Program Jakarta, as Moderator. The next series was an ice breaking session which then included the presentation of material by speaker 2, Istyarahma Kansya Kusumastuti, Public Health Study Program Student at the UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Undergraduate Program and a second question and answer session guided by the MC. After the core series was completed, the Public Health Webinar Series activities: UPN "Veteran" Jakarta National Epidemiology Webinar 2024 officially closed with a posttest and evaluation session at the end of the event.

It is hoped that holding this activity can increase participants' knowledge about prediabetes and also increase their awareness of the cooperation needed between society and the government in dealing with prediabetes cases as an important period to prevent the course of diabetes. (NDM)
