Jurusan Fisioterapi : International Seminar “The Effect Exercise For Improving Mental Health”

FIKES UPNVJ - On Wednesday, September 27 2023, an International Seminar was held with the theme "The Effect of Exercise for Improving Mental Health" by the physiotherapy study program, Faculty of Health Sciences, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta.  This event was held in the auditorium on the 8th floor of the Merce Building, Limo Campus, Depok. Participants in this event was the students of Physiotherapy Department, which consisted of Diploma of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Physiotherapy.  This event was also attended by the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation Mr. Agustiyawan, SST.FT, M.Fis, Ftr, AIFO, Head of the Physiotherapy Department Mrs. Farahdina Bachtiar, S.Ft, Physio, M.Sc, AIFO and attended by lecturers  UPN “Veteran” Physiotherapy Jakarta.

The resource person at this International Seminar was A/Prof Simon Rosenbaum from the University of New South Wales, Australia (top 50 universities in the world based on the QS World University Rankings). Simon Rosenbaum is an academic exercise physiologist and Scientia Associate Professor in the Discipline of Psychiatry and Mental Health, UNSW Sydney. Simon’s research focuses on physical activity, trauma and mental illness, including physical physical health co-morbidities. Simon has published >250 peer-reviewed publications.

This event started at 13.00 WIB, followed by showing a video profile of the Department of Physiotherapy, then continued with singing the songs Indonesia Raya and Mars Bela Negara, which was then continued with speeches and group photos, as well as the signing of the Implementation of Agreement (IA) by the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy, and A/Prof Simon Rosenbaum. Furthermore, there was a presentation by A/Prof Simon regarding “Realising the Potential of Physiotherapy for Mental Illness”.  The participants seemed enthusiastic as shown by the number of participants who asked questions to the speaker. The event then closed by awarding certificates and plaques to the speaker as a token of appreciation.
