Community Service "Use of Used Cooking Oil Waste in Efforts to Maintain Environmental Health" together with the Dahlia Senja Elderly School

FIKES UPNVJ - Community Service which is attended by elderly people who are members of the Dahlia Senja Elderly School which is located at Posyandu Dahlia Senja, Limo, Depok City. The implementation of this activity coincides with the commemoration of the 27th National Elderly Day with the theme Cared for Elderly, Dignified Indonesia. This activity was carried out with the aim of providing direct understanding and practice in utilizing used cooking oil waste in an effort to maintain environmental health. This activity will be held on May 30 2023.

The series of events started at 09.00 WIB, starting with an angklung performance from the Dahlia Senja Elderly Community, followed by a speech by the principal of Posbindu Dahlia Senja school and continued with a group photo session.

The next series of activities was a material presentation session regarding the Utilization of Used Cooking Oil to Make Aromatherapy Soap and Candles which was delivered by Mrs. Nayla Kamilia Fithri SKM., MPH as Lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta through lecture methods and direct demonstrations to members of the Dahlia Senja community regarding making aromatherapy candles and soap from used cooking oil. Together with facilitators from the Undergraduate Public Health Study Program students, namely Anggarahita, Ismaya and Rayhan, they practiced directly how to process used cooking oil into something that could have economic value, namely aromatherapy candles and soap.

The material presentation and demonstration sessions took place interspersed with question and answer sessions from members of the Dahlia Senja community. The end of this community service activity was marked by the delivery of material and the end of the direct demonstration process carried out by Mrs. Nayla Kamilia Fithri SKM., MPH.
