KSM BATAVIA DUMAY (COMMUNITY EDUCATION) Together with Merpati Posyandu Residents "Together Prevent Post-Flood Diseases: Small Steps, Big Protection"

FIKES UPNVJ - KSM Batavia has held a work program from the Pusdiklat division, namely DUMAY (Community Education) on Saturday, September 30, 2023. DUMAY was held offline at Posyandu Merpati RW 01 Jalan Rotan, Kampung Bedeng, RT 02, RW 01, Kel. Limo, Kec. Limo, Depok City, West Java 16514. DUMAY 2023 carries the theme "Together Prevent Post-Flood Illness: Small Steps, Big Protection". The targets of this educational program are residents who live around Jalan Rotan, Kampung Bedeng, RT 02, RW 01, Kel. Limo, Kec. Limo, Depok City, West Java 16514. This activity aims to instill an attitude of disaster preparedness through providing material about flood alert and post-flood diseases that are prone to occur in the area. Not only community education, but the DUMAY 2023 activity also organized health checks which were carried out free of charge to residents who participated in the activity from start to finish.

This activity began with registration as well as distributing snacks to residents. Then, working on pre-test questions related to the material. The next event was a speech. Remarks were given by the chief executive of the DUMAY event, the head of KSM Batavia, and community leaders such as the head of the RT and the head of the RW. Furthermore, the core event is the provision of disaster material related to flood alert and post-flood disease prevention. After the presentation of the material, a question and answer session and a quiz with prizes were held which was enthusiastically followed by the residents. Then, there was additional material in the form of disaster demonstrations to complement the disaster material.

The event continued with ice breaking to rebuild the spirit and enthusiasm of the residents. Furthermore, the event was closed by the MC and continued with the symbolic handover of plaques and certificates as a memento from KSM Batavia to representatives of local residents. The event ended with filling out post tests and health checks using coupons that had been distributed. The available health checks consist of measuring weight, height, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid.

With this work program, it is hoped that it can add knowledge and skills about disasters that have been learned to the target community. This is useful for increasing awareness of disasters and preparing disaster-responsive communities in disaster-prone areas in the future. In addition, the health checks are also expected to raise public awareness to always maintain their health.
