FIKES UPNVJ - Jakarta, [January 20 & February 3, 2025] – In the framework of the Nursing Procession Practice, Nursing professional students carried out a Mental Health Nursing internship at the Soeharto Heerdjan Mental Hospital, Jakarta. The Mental Health Nursing internship began with a program contract that aims to improve the quality of students in health services and academic development in the field of mental health. The program contract event took place at the Soeharto Heerdjan Hospital, attended by representatives from both institutions, attended by dr. Galianti Prihandayani., Sp.KJ., MARS Director of Human Resources Education and Research at Soeharto Heerdjan Hospital, Ns. Cut Sarida Pompey, M.N.S as Head of the Nursing Department, lecturers namely Ns. Duma Lumbantobing, M.Kep., Sp. Kep. J, Ns. Dwi Suratmini, M.Kep., and Ns. Raphita Diorarta, M.Kep., Sp. Kep. J as well as medical personnel, and students. This agreement includes cooperation in the field of professional practice of Nurses in the Mental Health Nursing stage with a primary focus on improving understanding and mental health services in Indonesia.
In his remarks, the Director of Human Resources Education and Research at Soeharto Heerdjan Hospital said that this collaboration is a strategic step to strengthen the synergy between academics and health practitioners. "We hope that this collaboration can provide benefits for both parties, especially in improving the competence of students in the field of mental health," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Nursing Department also emphasized the importance of this collaboration in improving the quality of students in the academic environment. "With student practice, our students will gain direct experience in the field, so that they can understand more deeply the practice of mental health services," he said.
Furthermore, the program contract is continued with an explanation of the assignments that will be carried out by students during their Mental Health Nursing practice at Soeharto Heerdjan Hospital. With this collaboration, Soeharto Heerdjan Hospital and the Faculty of Health Sciences UPNVJ hope to be able to make a real contribution to improving the quality of mental health services in Indonesia and producing competent and professional Nurses in their fields.
