FIKES UPNVJ - Jakarta, February 27, 2025 – The Physiotherapy Department, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) held an academic guidance session for students in the Even Academic Year 2024/2025. This activity aims to provide more targeted academic guidance and support, assist students in preparing study plans, and ensure optimal quality of education for each student in the physiotherapy department.
This academic guidance involves academic supervisors who act as mentors for each student. Academic supervisors will provide direction regarding time management, course selection, and provide advice regarding self-development outside the classroom, such as strengthening practical skills in the field of physiotherapy and increasing participation in scientific activities. This guidance activity is very important, considering that competition in the professional world is getting tighter and students must be able to prepare themselves optimally.
Academic guidance is one of the priorities in ensuring that students have competencies that are in accordance with the established standards. This guidance is also a space to strengthen the relationship between students and lecturers as mentors who support student development.
In addition to guidance related to academic studies, academic supervisors will also provide advice related to non-academic achievements that support students' career development, such as additional training and certification in physiotherapy, as well as involvement in relevant research or social activities. This guidance does not only focus on academic aspects, but also on character development and soft skills needed in the world of work.
In the guidance sessions that last for one semester, students are expected to be able to discuss various problems they face, both in terms of academics and campus life in general. Through a more personal approach, academic supervisors are expected to be able to provide more effective solutions, as well as motivate students to achieve their academic and career goals.
