FIKES UPNVJ - Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Tanah Airku Hall, Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ), as many as 221 FIKES UPNVJ graduates took their professional oath. The taking of the Professional Oath is the culmination of the academic journey of the 221 graduates, consisting of 74 graduates of the Nursing Professional Program, 89 graduates of the Nursing D3 Program, and 58 graduates of the Physiotherapy D3 Program. The oath-taking activity not only marks the end of the study period, but is also the first step in the professional careers of the graduates in the health sector. The oath-taking ceremony was carried out solemnly and full of hope, where 221 graduates officially took their professional oath and committed to dedicating themselves to health services by upholding the professional code of ethics.
The inauguration and oath-taking activities of the FIKES UPNVJ graduates began with a prayer led by Mr. Saiful Anam, S.Ag., M.Pd.I. After the prayer, the event continued with the opening statement of the open session by the Dean of FIKES UPNVJ, Desmawati, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Mat., Ph.D., which officially marked the start of the inauguration procession. The event continued with the reading of the Academic Report by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Ns. Fiora Ladesvita, M.Kep., Sp.Kep.MB., who conveyed the achievements and academic progress of the graduates, and presented a general overview of the faculty's performance in educating competent prospective health workers. The peak moment occurred during the oath-taking, inauguration, and inauguration of the Nursing Profession, Associate Nursing, and Associate Health Expert graduates. The Dean of FIKES UPNVJ, accompanied by representatives of the DPW PPNI Jakarta and PP IFI, as well as clergy from Islam, Christianity, and Catholicism, led the ceremony solemnly. After the oath-taking, it was continued with the official inauguration statement and the signing of the minutes by the Dean as a sign of the validity of the inauguration. Then, the Dean presented the certificates and pinned the Professional PIN as recognition and respect for the commitment and dedication of the graduates in serving the community in the health sector.
After the oath-taking and inauguration procession, the next event was a briefing and speech from representatives of professional organizations and the Dean of FIKES UPNVJ. The first speech was delivered by Ns. Kristianawati from the DPW Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI), who emphasized the importance of the role of nurses in providing quality health services. She invited the graduates to continue to hone their professional skills in order to improve health standards in Indonesia. The next speech was delivered by Suroso, Ftr., from the Indonesian Physiotherapy Association (IFI), who expressed his hope that the new physiotherapists could integrate the latest innovations and technologies into their practice. He also emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in achieving optimal results in patient care.
Dean of FIKES UPNVJ, Desmawati, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Mat., Ph.D., in her closing remarks, congratulated the graduates and gave her appreciation for their hard work and dedication during their education. She hopes that the graduates will continue to bring positive changes in the world of health, based on the integrity and professionalism that have been built during their time at the university.
