PBL 3 "Heat Stroke Prevention, Use of PPE, and Manual Material Handling for Civil Workers on Construction Projects"

FIKES UPNVJ – On November 20 2023, students from the Public Health Undergraduate Study Program specializing in Occupational Safety and Health carried out K3 counseling from the Field Learning Experience Course 3 accompanied by Mr. Afif Amir Amrullah, S.Kep, M.KKK as supervisor.

One of the 7th semester student groups consisting of Kezia Putri Christiandi, Allya Putri Antarja, and Julivia Anggraini carried out Field Learning Experience 3 at PT. Electrical Engineering. Health promotion activities are carried out in RE project work at PT. PLN Nusantara Power, Muara Karang Generating Unit, Pluit, North Jakarta.

Health promotion activities carry the topic "Prevention of Heat Stroke, Use of PPE, and Manual Material Handling for Civil Workers on Construction Projects" and the series of activities include:

Preparation
Preparations have been carried out since mid-October 2023. The group agreed to choose targets in the form of civil workers because construction work cannot be separated from civil workers who are at risk of accidents or work-related diseases. Before carrying out K3 promotions, the group first makes a proposal and SAP which contains the date, time, duration, materials, methods, media, tools, materials and planned activity stages. After that, the group prepared all the tools and materials to carry out the activity, such as posters as a medium for outreach, attendance lists, pretest and posttest questions, and snacks to be distributed to workers.

Application
The activity will be carried out on November 10 2023 at 09.00–09.30 WIB at PT. PLN Nusantara Power with the opening of the event and group introductions by each group member, completing the pretest by workers, followed by presentation of material by Kezia Putri Christiandi, Allya Putri Antarja, and Julivia Anggraini with the help of promotional media in the form of posters, then workers are directed to fill out the posttest . The activity closed with filling out the attendance list, distributing snacks and taking group photos.

Evaluation
Evaluation is carried out before and after implementation. Evaluation is carried out by observing the participants' pretest and posttest results.

In order to increase knowledge regarding driving safety, a health promotion was carried out which was attended by 20 civil servants. As a form of support for Occupational Safety and Health (K3), first aid bags and cooling towels were provided to the K3 Coordinator in the project.
